Supporting Evidence

Documentary evidence for the Bredesen Protocol

Being told you or your loved one has Alzheimer’s is devastating, and while the Bredesen Protocol is relatively new, the science behind it and Dr Bredesen’s case histories make a very strong case for the validity of this approach and work, so having someone by your side, offering advice, guidance and encouragement will help you remain motivated and stay on track.

Papers

The following papers demonstrate the scientific credibility of the Bredesen Protocol®.

Professor Dale Bredesen, an internationally recognised expert in the mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases. In 2014, he published a peer-reviewed medical publication in which he shared his his multi-step precision medicine approach that demonstrated reversal of cognitive decline in nine (out of ten) patients for the very first time.

You can read that publication here:

Reversal of cognitive decline: A novel therapeutic program

He’s continued to refine his clinical work and several years later published:

Reversal of cognitive decline: 100 patients

In this paper he outlined one hundred case studies, detailing documented patient improvements, fundamentally changing the way we understand and approach cognitive decline.

In 2022, he published a pilot study in Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.

The treatment of early Alzheimer disease (AD) with a precision-medicine approach resulted in improved cognitive scores for 8 of the 9 participants. In this multisite study, signs of improvement were also seen in MRI measures of regional brain volume and care-partner assessment of symptoms.

Evidence that early Alzheimer's can be reversed

Pharmaceutical trials for Alzheimer’s have failed repeatedly, but a new study using a fundamentally different approach based upon the science of Dale Bredesen, M.D., has provided the first clinical trial success: using precision medicine to identify and target the drivers of Alzheimer’s or pre-Alzheimer’s in each patient. Dr. Bredesen and his team have posted exciting, positive results in their peer-reviewed study published in the Journal of Alzheimer’s Disease.

Recommended books

The pioneer of this protocol is Dr Dale Bredesen. He has written two books that best explain the protocol:

The First Survivors of Alzheimer’s discusses the first seven survivors of Alzheimer’s, their history and what they did to overcome Alzheimer’s.

The End of Alzheimer’s Programme is a more technical and scientific account of the mechanism of the protocol and details the steps he had proven an individual can take to combat Alzheimer’s Disease.
